Restorative aerial yoga is a gentle, slow-paced style of yoga that uses a suspended fabric hammock to support the body in relaxing, therapeutic poses. It blends elements of traditional yoga, restorative yoga, and light aerial movement, but with a strong emphasis on comfort, release, and nervous system regulation rather than strength or acrobatics. In a typical class, the hammock is adjusted low to the ground so you can sit, lie back, or partially recline in it. The fabric supports your weight, allowing you to fully relax into stretches without straining muscles or joints. Poses are held for longer periods—sometimes several minutes—encouraging deep physical and mental relaxation.
